Ferrari Unleashes the 296 GT3 Evo at Spa: A New Chapter in GT Racing Excellence
SME News Uk.Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium – Three years after its global debut at the legendary 24 Hours of Spa, Ferrari returns to the same iconic circuit to unveil the evolution of its GT powerhouse — the Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo. Built on a legacy of dominance, the Evo marks a major leap in performance, aerodynamics, and adaptability, aiming to set new benchmarks in GT endurance racing.
Since its introduction, the 296 GT3 has amassed 140 victories, 405 podium finishes, and 56 pole positions in just 343 races — including titles in the GT World Challenge Endurance Cup, and wins at Nürburgring 24h and Daytona 24h. Drawing on this race-proven pedigree and feedback from top-tier clients, the Evo version integrates substantial upgrades across nearly every aspect of the car.
While maintaining the acclaimed 120° V6 engine with internal turbochargers — known for its compact weight and high-revving output — the 296 GT3 Evo benefits from a refined gearbox, upgraded aerodynamic architecture, enhanced brake cooling, and a completely re-engineered rear wing. The result: a car more stable in traffic, more efficient in airflow, and easier to maintain and set up between races.
A signature addition includes front bonnet air intakes for cockpit and brake cooling, derived from 296 LMGT3endurance data, as well as body elements optimized to accommodate a wider range of tires and improve visibility through redesigned rearview mirrors.
The cockpit has also been enhanced for better ergonomics and cooling, ensuring driver focus and comfort during extreme conditions. Modularity remains a key focus, with the Evo also available as an upgrade kit for current 296 GT3 owners.
The Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo will be homologated ahead of its official 2026 race debut, reaffirming Ferrari’s commitment to innovation, racing excellence, and customer-centric engineering.
