Nissan Unveils Bold Electrification Plans with New Models and Major Upgrades

SME News UK .Nissan is charging ahead with its electrification strategy, announcing an exciting line-up of new electric vehicles and technology updates that will shape the future of mobility in Europe and beyond.
Britain’s largest car manufacturer confirmed the arrival of the third-generation Nissan LEAF, the return of the iconic Micra as a fully electric urban vehicle, and an upgraded Qashqai e-POWER system. Adding to the momentum, Nissan revealed that the next-generation JUKE will debut in FY2026 as a pure electric vehicle.
Key Highlights:
All-New Micra EV: Launching in 2025, the stylish, compact Micra will return as a fully electric vehicle. Designed in London at Nissan Design Europe, the new Micra promises a bold, urban look and will offer two battery options (40kWh and 52kWh) with a range of up to 248 miles. Production will take place at the Ampere ElectriCity plant in Douai, France.
Third-Generation LEAF: Nissan’s revolutionary LEAF, the world’s first mass-market EV, will enter its third generation with an aerodynamic, futuristic design. Built in Sunderland, UK, the new LEAF will be developed on Nissan’s advanced CMF-EV platform and play a pivotal role in the company’s EV36Zero project — transforming Sunderland into a flagship EV hub.
Upgraded Qashqai e-POWER: Nissan’s unique e-POWER hybrid technology will be refined further, improving efficiency, emissions, and driving experience. This continuous improvement follows the Japanese principle of Kaizen and will bring drivers even closer to the feeling of a full EV without the need to recharge.
